High Six x CREE Buildings

An unprecedented partnership to boost low-carbon property in France

CREE Buildings and High Six are joining forces to accelerate the deployment of the new generation of off-site, low-carbon buildings in regionalised circuits.

Unique in its performance and decentralised production model, the CREE solution brings to the French market a proven and competitive low-carbon construction method, which has already been deployed in emblematic buildings in Germany, Portugal, the Benelux countries, Singapore and elsewhere..

The partnership is now in a position to roll out the solution across France, and is already looking at ways of integrating it into a number of projects at the competition or pre-application stage on behalf of committed project owners.

Low-carbon real estate: a change of scale

As the world leader in timber-concrete hybrid solutions with high off-site added value, CREE Buildings is a tailor-made response to the current French context, thanks in particular to its unrivalled speed of execution on site and the mix of materials it uses, enabling it to meet the growing objectives of the RE2020 in a cost-effective way.

At the same time, High Six has rapidly built a reputation for its integrated offering, boosted by a proprietary multicriteria analysis tool and technical expertise in off-site construction underpinned by over 10 years' experience gained in France, the UK, Canada and BENELUX.

‘We see High Six as an ideal partner, with shared values and strong entrepreneurial energy,’ says Hubert Rhomberg, founder of CREE. The industry is undergoing a paradigm shift, which is exciting and challenging. We are very selective, choosing only the most ambitious partners; France is a great country for innovation and entrepreneurship - this alliance with High Six demonstrates the level of quality that both companies expect from each project. "

In France, CREE is Made-in-France

This expansion into the French market represents an important step for CREE. As well as opening up its global network to a new growth market, France - the birthplace of the Paris agreements - continues to play a leading role in the development of sustainable projects, both in terms of the quality of the technologies used and the volumes committed.

According to Volker Weissenberger of CREE, the partnership with High Six reinforces the power of the collective: "It's a strong signal to the rest of the market. We defend quality and work to exceed our customers' expectations in terms of optimising resources and methods through continuous improvement, while remaining focused on cost control", he explains. " . The volume we are creating is significant, and demand for CREE buildings is high, particularly in France and neighbouring countries. This improves visibility for manufacturers and benefits all the markets where CREE is deployed.

The mix of materials and prefabrication means that national industrial sectors can be promoted, while the ‘right material in the right place’ approach can be put into practice. This new offering provides a strong response to the need to control the cost-carbon balance by promoting innovation and reducing the risks associated with supply, thanks in particular to a robust network of qualified and trained French industrial partners.

Max Garcia, Managing Director of High Six, is also optimistic about the potential benefits for the industry as a whole: "Through CREE France, High Six is pursuing its mission to boost the French biobased industries, while enabling other, more carbon-intensive industries to accelerate their green shift. "He added. "In terms of the production of prefabricated elements: in France, CREE is Made-In-France. Border countries could just as easily use French production capacity for their CREE projects. That's the advantage of designing and building from a decentralised product platform, i.e. not linked to one but to several production capacities.

A frugal, cost-effective solution to comply with environmental regulations

Frugality, optimisation and quality are the cornerstones of the CREE construction solution, which offers a proven balance between economic viability and architectural expression. The solution, tested and proven in several climatic and seismic regions, is adapted to the French regulatory context.

By joining forces with CREE, High Six becomes part of a global platform and gains access to a decade of project and R&D knowledge capitalised on over 230,000 m² of floor space delivered to date.

Thanks to its multicriteria analysis method, High Six is able to validate the technical and economic feasibility of the solution in just a few days, as demonstrated by the six large-scale projects under study for committed project owners such as Icade and Synergies Urbaines.

The development of an initial pilot project is well under way, paving the way for other buildings to be constructed using the same constructive recipe, and thus materialising a product platform under construction, inspired by the French aeronautical industries.

About CREE Buildings

CREE Buildings is an international construction collective dedicated to the deployment of regenerative construction solutions. Founded in 2010 by Hubert Rhomberg, CREE Buildings has developed and optimised a scalable and adaptable constructive solution for multi-storey wood-hybrid buildings made up of prefabricated elements. By licensing this unique system, CREE's global network of partners design and build efficiently and sustainably, sharing knowledge and collaborating through the CREE platform. Originally from Austria, CREE Buildings has expanded its network across Europe, Asia and North America since 2016.

High Six and CREE Buildings sign the licence agreement at SIBCA, the major low-carbon property event in Paris, on 21/09/2023.
